About

Hi there, welcome to Girls in Airports' Sleeve. We came together as students in Copenhagen, forming this band with a pretty open approach to genres and a slightly unusual instrumentation. We don't have a bass player - instead, we mix retro synths with rhythmic elements and complex grooves. In a way, jazz was our starting point, but we’ve since ventured far beyond that.

It’s hard to put into words what we do but at times it is like we’re searching for a kind of evolution within ourselves — something we hope others can also connect to, in the context of where we all are in history right now. We’re facing change, and hopefully moving toward something more collective. A kind of spirituality — not in a dogmatic one — but more in the way we experience. There’s a sense of openness and positive emotions in the music.

At the same time, we care deeply about the music itself. We experiment with the language of music — as a way to express what we want to communicate.

We’ve found that our music resonates with all kinds of people. There’s no clear pattern beyond a shared love for music itself. It reaches across ages, genders, and musical preferences, and we fully embrace that.
